How to dress for fall 2021

Now that fall has officially arrived, it's time to start planning your outfits. Don't stress, I'm here to help.

Trousers

Work-like trousers are pushing leather pants to the side. Leather pants will still be seen on the streets of NYC, but baggy trousers will be the new streetwear trend. I love funky, unique, eye-catching pants. Summer is my favorite season, but I am so excited to not be sweating in pants anymore.

I'm all for the low waisted come back, but I will not be participating. High-waisted pants are my safe place, they hide and accentuate all the right places. I love having a few pairs of patterned and/or statement pants to wear with plain tops. Monochromatic looks are staying on trend and a great option for a clean fall fit.

Coats & Jackets

Just because fall is approaching doesn't mean your closet has to be all neutrals. Outerwear is a chic way to show off your color. Having a variety of color and neutrals in your wardrobe will ensure you have a variety of looks to mix and match. Puffers will stay on trend and be more popular than ever. Long leather or suede coats will be seen a lot this season. I predict long coats will be paired with high boots or trousers.

Boots

This fall, boots are going to be a focal point. If you follow fashion trends you know cowboy boots are making a comeback. I have seen some really cute looks with cowboy boots, but the city girl in me just can't purchase a pair. I will include inspiration with a link for those daring fashionistas. Sweats

One benefit of Covid is sweats are now considered stylish. Monochromatic lounge sets will remain a popular trend this fall and winter. You can also break up the sweatsuit look and pair a sweatshirt with fun or neutral pants, depending on the look you are going for. Whether you wear a sweatsuit or break it up sweats are great for layering. They can be worn under jackets or on top of turtle necks or collared shirts.
